County Competition Entries
31 Jan 2008 15:07

ASA Law 311.1.2 states that anyone entering an Open Meet must be registered as a Category 2 swimmer - law 407 gives further guidance. A number of the entries for the Sprints at Milton Road are only Category 1.

If this is an error on the ASA's part it can be rectified immediately. If this is an error by the club, the swimmers will be allowed to swim in their correct speed position as a time trial i.e not eligible for medals OR they may withdraw from the competition without incurring a fee.

The County appreciate that this is a very busy time for clubs, with not only County Competitions to get in but also the new years registrations to complete - but we must abide by the Laws of our sport.

The results of the sprints at Milton Road do not get sent to ASA for ranking purposes because of the odd length of the pool, so those doing time trials will not be further disadvantaged.

Please use this hiccup as a wake-up call so that all swimmers are properly registered at Cat 2's before the Youth & Bagcat entries are due in.
