Job Description
Salisbury Stingrays is a teaching and competitive swimming club with about 480 members, based in Salisbury. The club sections include learn to swim, water polo, lifesaving, competitive squad and masters. We use two pools in Salisbury, including a new 8-lane facility with electronic timing and are working towards Swim 21 accreditation.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, experienced, enthusiastic and highly committed Head Coach who will work closely with both the Club Committee and our dedicated team of coaches & teachers to move the Club forward, with particular focus on the squad and learn to swim sections.
The Head Coach will be required to create long and short term plans which enable our competitive swimmers to fulfil their ambitions to county, district and national levels. Our current timetable provides a total of 16 hours of contact time with the competitive squad each week. The Head Coach is also required to lead the teaching programme (levels 1 - 10 of the NPTS), providing professional guidance and support for our team of teachers and willing assistants to ensure that the plan is effectively delivered. Subject to suitability, the Head Coach will also take on club management tasks giving the option of full-time employment.
Coaching experience is essential - ASA club coach qualification level 3 preferred, candidates with level 2 will be considered. In addition, applicants need to demonstrate the following:
-Ability to motivate and encourage swimmers ensuring each individual's potential is met.
-Excellence in Coaching.
-Ability to communicate effectively with members, committee and parents.
-Ability to lead and mentor a group of coaches ensuring a consistent approach through out the club.
-Have sound administration abilities.
-Be required to work early mornings, evenings and weekends to cover training sessions plus galas/competitions as required
